Volunteer Positions
This list is provided to help participants understand the expectations for the various volunteer positions, and match their volunteer commitment with the time they have to give. Participation in all performances is NOT required. Volunteers are welcome to fill as many, or as few, positions as they wish, and may fill different positions on different dates.
SET-UP PARTY CREW
Tasks: Build and paint sets, make props, enhance trails, etc. Please bring tools (drills, etc.) if you have them.
Dates: Saturdays, Sept. 29th, Oct. 6th, and Oct. 13th, 2006.
Time: Starting at 10:00am (as much time as you can give) until 4:00pm.
PUMPKIN CARVER
Tasks: Help carve over 1,000 Jack-o-lanterns. Please bring your own carving tools.
Date: Saturday, October 13 and Sunday, October 21.
Time: Starting at 10:00am (as much time as you can give). Until 2:00pm.
CHARACTER Needed: 60 per performance.
Tasks: Act in the scenes and put your dramatic talents to work (following scripts and guidelines). Characters must be willing to be in costume with makeup.
Dates: Performance date(s) of your choice plus 1 ½ hours of rehearsal per role on Oct 14th.
Time: Thursdays and Fridays 5:00pm - 12:00am, Saturdays 4:00pm 12:00am
Saturday Matinees 9:30am - 3:30pm.
GUIDE (Evening guides must be 18 or older.) Guides needed: 40 per performance
Tasks: Participate in the show by leading groups of ticket holders through the Forest.
Dates: Performance date(s) of your choice plus 1 hour of rehearsal/training Oct 14th.
Time: Thursdays and Fridays 6:00pm - 12:00am, Saturdays 5:00pm 12:00am
Saturday Matinees 10:30am - 3:30pm.
MAKE-UP/COSTUMING
Tasks: Help characters get ready for the show.
Dates: Performance date(s) of your choice, plus workshops for makeup TBA
Time: Thursdays and Fridays 5:00pm 7:30pm, Saturdays 4:00pm 6:30pm
Saturday Matinees 9:30am 11:30am.
FOOD RELIEF
Tasks: Deliver snacks and beverages to all the volunteers behind the scenes.
Date: Thurs. & Fri. 6:00pm - 11:00pm, Saturdays 5:00pm 11:00pm
Saturday Matinees 10:30am - 3:00pm.
FOOD CONCESSION
Tasks: Help prepare and sell snacks to guests of the forest, such as cookies and hot chocolate.
Date: Performance date (s) of your choice.
Time: Thurs. & Fri. 6:00pm - 11:00pm, Saturdays 5:00pm 11:00pm
Saturday Matinees 10:30am - 3:00pm.
LINE MANAGEMENT OR CHARACTER LINE MGMT.
Tasks: Work the line, greet guests and take tickets or be a character helping to entertain folks while they wait in line.
Date: Performance date(s) of your choice.
Time: Thurs. & Fri. 6:00pm - 11:00pm, Saturdays 5:00pm 11:00pm
Saturday Matinees 10:30am - 3:30pm.
TECH CREW
Tasks: Help keep the show running smoothly from behind the scenes or operate special effects.
Dates: Performance date(s) of your choice, plus two hours of rehearsal TBA.
Time: Thursdays and Fridays 5:00pm - 12:00am, Saturdays 4:00pm 12:00am
Saturday Matinees 10:30am - 3:30pm.
RUNNER
Tasks: Provide troubleshooting and logistical support for staff as needed
Dates: Performance date(s) of your choice.
Time: Thurs. & Fri. 6:00pm - 11:00pm, Saturdays 5:00pm 11:00pm
Saturday Matinees 10:00am - 3:00pm.
PARKING (Evening Parking Crew volunteers must be 18 or older)
Tasks: Greet guests and keep traffic and parking organized.
Dates: Performance date(s) of your choice.
Time: Thurs. & Fri. 6:00pm - 11:00pm, Saturdays 5:00pm 11:00pm
Saturday Matinees 10:30am - 3:30pm.
SET STRIKE
Tasks: Help take apart the production and store materials for next year. Destroy evidence :)
Dates: Sunday, October 28, 2007 and Saturday, November 3, 2007
